Located in Southern Patagonia, Argentina, La Plata Lake´s surface is 14,000 hectares. It is sorrounded by a wide range of mountains of different altitudes and teeming patagonian andean forests which make it a precious habitat for a huge variety of biodiversity and particularly the endangered Huemul (Hippocamelus bisulcus).
Shoonem Foundation has been working to protect the Huemul population there and its habitat, with the ultimate goal of creating a bi-national conservation corridor between Argentina and Chile.
